I took my first yoga class in 1996 at Harmony Center for Yoga & Body Arts during my senior year at PSU. I heard that yoga was a great way to deal with stress. I looked forward to attending class; it was my escape from the real world every Monday evening. I always left class feeling more relaxed and calm.
Once I graduated and moved back to NJ, I ordered a whole catalog of tapes and continued practicing. It wasn't until the 2004 IABYT retreat that I considered becoming a yoga teacher. I completed my 200 hr teacher training with Maya Breuer and graduated in November 2005.
In December 2005, I relocated to Georgia. Since then, I've started my own company, Blissful Yoga & Massage LLC. I'm studying massage therapy at High-Tech Institute. This August 2007, I became a certified Reiki Master under the guidance of Jamela Franklin.
In March 2008, I graduated from High Tech Institute as valedictorian with a certificate in Massage Therapy. I'm studying for the national certification to obtain my state license.
Yoga has helped me achieve a level of peace and tranquility that was sorely missing from my life. My goal is to bring the same level of healing to my students and community.
