I'm Angelique Shofar, a certified yoga teacher with a Kripalu foundation and pre-natal specialty. I am also a dance and movement instructor, Energy therapist, Reflexologist and a Sexual Wellness coach.

What is a sexual wellness coach? As a Sexual Wellness Coach I offer guidance, support and practical tips to empower women sexually and offer wisdom and insights into the holistic nature of our sexuality - mind, body and spirit. Sex is the gateway to life. I help women understand the hidden potency of the “sexual act” as the seed of all creativity. Utilizing a variety of healing tools such as herbs, body work, energy medicine, yoga, dance, creative visualization, and other fun and sexy activities, I open a fresh new world the reveals the magic, mysteries and miracles of sex. I encourage and empower women to find and free their sexual voice and power!

Inspired by the desire to blend my personality, creativity and cultural background I created an evolving, dynamic style of yoga that speaks to the heart of people of African descent. Thus Soulfull Yoga™ was created fusing music, movement, massage, meditation and message.

My training blends the wisdom and practice of my African ancestry with Eastern and Native American traditions and medicine.

I am a syndicated writer - with columns : "Spirit of Wellness" & "The Sexual Griot". I am a talk show host and executive produced, “Africa Meets Africa” formerly on Pacifica Radio WPFW 89.3 FM. I have been featured at ABCNEWS.com, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, Voice of America's - Healthy Living, Heart & Soul Magazine and other international publications.

I've joined the IABYT primarily for connecting further with my beautiful sisters and brothers of African descent and to put in action the true meaning of yoga - union!!! Unifying all people of African descent. I was born and raised on the west coast of Africa, my native land is Liberia. Visit me online at www.spiritofwellness.org and www.myspace.com/ashofar

I would love to hear from you. Let's connect and fuse our energies for creative change!

Greetings Angelique:
Thank you for reaching out. I am an aspiring yogini. I began my studies (kundalini) in 1971 with Krishna Kaur in L.A. I've taken a long break but am eager to return to the discipline. I used to teach and perform WAfrican dance but have not been active lately. I do travel with my job and perhaps I can stop by your studio should I come that way. Do stay in touch. Cytara
